Blowing air but it's not cold
This is almost always low refrigerant gas — either from natural loss over time or a small leak in a hose or seal. The compressor is running, air is moving, but there isn't enough refrigerant to actually cool it. A gas recharge fixes the symptom short-term, but if the level drops again within a few months, there's a leak that needs finding and sealing properly rather than just re-gassing every summer. Weak airflow even on the highest fan setting
This one is rarely gas-related. The usual culprits are a clogged cabin air filter (very common in Sharjah's dust), a failing blower motor, or a blocked evaporator. We check the cabin filter first — it's the cheapest fix and the most overlooked one.
AC works, then cuts out after a few minutes
Intermittent cooling that cuts out usually points to the compressor clutch cycling on and off due to low refrigerant, a failing pressure sensor, or the compressor itself overheating. We run the system on gauges to see exactly what the pressures are doing while it's cutting out, rather than guessing.
Musty or sour smell from the vents
Moisture builds up on the evaporator and, combined with UAE dust, breeds bacteria that causes the smell. This is a cleaning and sanitising job, not a gas issue — recharging the AC won't fix a smell problem.
Loud or grinding noise when the AC is on
Usually the compressor clutch bearing or the belt driving it. Left alone, a failing compressor can seize completely, which is a far bigger repair than catching it early.
