Car AC not cooling? Common problems we fix
In a Sharjah summer, a car AC that isn't cooling properly isn't just uncomfortable — it's a real problem. Most AC complaints come down to a handful of faults, and each one needs a different fix:
- Blowing warm air — usually low refrigerant gas from a leak, sometimes a compressor or clutch that isn't engaging
- Weak airflow — often a blocked cabin filter, a failing blower motor or a clogged evaporator
- Cools, then cuts out — low gas, a faulty pressure sensor or an overheating compressor
- Bad smell from the vents — bacteria and dust on the evaporator, which needs cleaning and sanitising
- Noise when the AC is on — a worn compressor clutch bearing or drive belt
- AC works at speed but not in traffic — often a condenser fan fault or a blocked condenser

Why we don't just "top up the gas"
An AC system is sealed. If the gas is low, it has leaked somewhere — and a top-up without fixing the leak means you'll be back next summer. Every AC job at our garage starts on the gauges: we measure the high and low side pressures, check the outlet temperature and find the actual fault before recommending anything. If there's a leak, we find it and seal it. If the problem is a blower or a blocked filter, we tell you — there's no point paying for gas you don't need.
